A few miles away from Patmos and Leros is the island of Lipsi or Lipsos. Lipsi is a group of small islands including Calapodia Aspronissi, Macronissi, Frago, Plavi, and other small islets. All these small islands can be visited with daily tours leaving from the main island of Lipsi or Leros. The surface of the main island of Lipsi is 16 square kilometers with a coastline of 35 kilometers.
Because the island is small it is easy to go around hiking. On the island there is taxi service and a bus to take you to the beaches near by, there are scooter or bike rentals a most preferable way to go around.
On Lipsi there are some beautiful sandy beaches , like Platis Gialos Toyrkomnima and hohlakoura with its clear green blue waters . On the small natural port located the capital, with its small white houses and its beautiful square , where there can be found taverns, cafeterias and restaurants .
Lipsi becomes crowded during the 30 of August when the festivity of the Madonna is carried out and many visitors from the neighboring islands of Leros Kalymnos and Patmos visiting the island.
